I think I’m falling in love with books all over again!
I’ve been working at a book store now for 6 months and obviously it isn’t as warm and inviting and just SO INSPIRING as this picture but it is quaint and small and nothing compared to the large retail shops like Crosswords or Landmark (the Barnes & Noble of India) which rely on music and DVDs for most of their sales. Danai is a bookshop which specializes in supplying books according to the customer’s request and also coffee table books on art and India.
Anyways, as I said I’ve been working there for a while now and each day I used to look forward to it to read new books and instead used to waste my time helping customers or day dreaming or something equally lame. But recently Ive been having a sort of 17 year old life crisis where I’m really panicking about turning 18 and thinking my youth is over as Harry Potter is coming to an end and so on but today while I was cleaning up the store and looking at all the new books we got, I realised that the only thing I really need is a good book in my hand and a maybe a cup of coffee and I’m fine.
While I was at high school, I dont think I read at all. I mean a little Animal Farm here and Harry Potter there and a little more rereading Harry Potter and all of the feminist books of IB but thats all. And thank god for this gap year because I have truly discovered books again, reading them like I used to prehighschool. A little Zafon here and a little To Kill A Mockingbird there, and I’m back to my bliss.
My house is going to look like that when I grow up
